The Gloucester 1682 Trust has been formed to secure the heritage future of the Gloucester and the connected artefacts by fundraising to develop a permanent home in Great Yarmouth. The Trust’s governing body is chaired by General the Lord Richard Dannatt and includes non-salaried Trustees and a Development Board.

UEA's Vice Chancellor Professor David Maguire serves as Vice Patron of the Trust and Professor Claire Jowitt is a Trustee and is on the Development Board.
